CorrosionX eliminates corrosion and protects metal surfaces of your boat, trailer, and dockside equipment. It is especially recommended for brightwork (to keep stainless from pimpling), hatches, powerheads, antenna bases, hinges, and latches. CorrosionX will remove surface oxidation, but it doesn't work on heavily oxidized surfaces. Aluminum, for example, would probably require polishing with a product such as Flitz. However, CorrosionX effectively prevents future oxidation from forming or returning, something polishes don't do. Because CorrosionX is active (regular corrosion inhibitors are passive), it interrupts existing corrosion on the molecular level and keeps it from spreading.
CorrosionX is the best lubricant you can use for maritime applications. It does not attract dust, outperforms lubricants fortified with Teflon* (Polytetrafluoroethylene [PTFE]), and due to its unique polar bonding technology, CorrosionX repels water and doesn't dissipate quickly or wash off in harsh saltwater environments. Use CorrosionX on throttle cables, steering mechanisms, seat swivels, locks, travelers, winches, pulleys, furling systems, tracks and on any other gear that would benefit from lubrication. CorrosionX actively seeks metal with which to bond. It repels almost everything to protect the metal it's bonded to, including primers, fillers, and paints as well as the usual "bad guys" found in maritime applications such as moisture, salt, etc.
NOT HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT—The Volatile Organic Content (VOC) of CorrosionX is only 8.6% (the "popular" brand is 76% solvent). CorrosionX is nontoxic, non-carcinogenic, and is nonflammable when not in aerosol form (the propellant is flammable).
