Description MaxWax is a waxy corrosion inhibitor and a solution to marine growth on the running gear of pleasure craft and workboats. The product forms a smooth, non-tacky, synthetic coating that provides long-term protection against rust, corrosion, and marine growth, even when applied over paint or other barriers. It's effective for up to one year in temperatures from sub-zero to nearly 400°F Boaters in New Zealand report excellent results using MaxWax as a marine growth inhibitor. The flexible coating won't crack or lose its resiliency; marine growth just can't gain a foothold. Non-toxic and biodegradable, MaxWax penetrates between and around tight fittings to prevent the incursion of growth, salt or fresh water, gases, or chemicals that can cause rust or corrosion. It is available in 12 oz. aerosol cans as well as in bulk form. A single 12 oz. can will treat the running gear on a twin-engine pleasure boat or a small workboat. An Exciting Product: MaxWax is a unique, synthetic wax-barrier coating that provides maximum protection of all metals and is effective in temperatures ranging from -60°F (-50°C) to over 390°F (200°C). It dries to a smooth, non-tacky, waxy film that remains pliable throughout its full operating range. It is resilient and bends with any movement of the coated surface, will not crack under stress, and maintains its protective coat intact. Fast Drying: MaxWax should be sprayed on to a film thickness of 2 to 3 mils for uncovered outdoor storage of equipment. It dries in 8 to 24 hours, depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Unlike usual wax coatings, it will not harden, crack, or lose flexibility, even in sub-zero temperatures. What's more, it's a Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) that provides added rust or corrosion protection when the product is applied to confined areas such as the inside of cabinets or other enclosures. This special vapor forms an invisible, monomolecular coating that extends protection even where the wax coating cannot reach or is not desired, such as on electrical switches or mechanisms. Characteristics: Non-Toxic: MaxWax contains no chromates, nitrites, nitrates, or heavy-metal compounds. Biodegradable: The product is organically-based and poses no waste disposal problems. Concentrated: Excessive amounts of MaxWax are unnecessary, making it less expensive than other barrier coatings. How to use: MaxWax can be used on machined, plated or other metal surfaces as well as over existing coatings and finishes. The product will outperform many traditional paints or coatings without any special surface preparation, although removal of dirt, grease or loose rust is recommended. A light, uniform coat is best achieved by spraying at a distance of 10 to 12 inches from the surface to be treated. Allow 8 to 24 hours for complete drying. Typical applications: Apply to any metal surface where maximum protection is needed, such as pipe coating, cleats and cleat bolts, hinges and locks, chains and wire rope, long-term parts storage, shipment of parts/components, trailers, cars, planes, and boats, farm implements, hand tools, machine parts, and undercoating. Removal: Should it be necessary to remove the product, simply apply mineral spirits and wipe away. Use solvents or mineral spirits to clean up tools and remove overspray. MaxWax with VCI is a tough, durable wax coating with a long-lasting, resilient barrier! To view a .pdf file of the product's Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), click the following: Aerosol MSDS.
